Previous Projects

  • South Saskatchewan 12" River Crossing HDD Analysis

Lanmark was engaged to perform stress analysis for an HDD design for a 12” pipeline crossing the South Saskatchewan River and adjacent riser sites.

    Project details:

Comprehensive stress analysis for the 2 km HDD pipeline crossing the South Saskatchewan River. This included stress computations for two nearby launching and receiving pig barrel risers with 16” barrels. The analysis was conducted for compliance with CSA Z662, geotechnical soil conditions, and HVP design considerations.

    Project Details:

    • Contents: High Density Liquid Ethane

    • Design pressure: 9,930 kPa

    • Contract: $11,000.00

    • Site specific stress design

  • HDD Crossings

In order to replace four creek crossings with HDD crossings, Lanmark conducted Finite Element modelling, analyses, and code compliance evaluations for buried pipeline and pipeline interface in accordance with CSA Z662 code stress compliance.

  • HDPE HDD Crossing Uplift & Displacement

Lanmark performed an assessment of a High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipeline intended to cross approximately 2.4 kilometers of muskeg, including a 90-degree bend.

A nonlinear Finite-Element model was created for this analysis. Due to potentially large displacements of pipeline in muskeg, geometric discontinuities were considered as part of the analysis.
