A production separator is used to separate fluids from a well, and can be vertical, horizontal, or spherical in design. Separators are also categorized by operating pressure: low (10-180 psi), medium (230-700 psi), and high (975-1500 psi).

Glycol dehydration removes water vapor from natural gas to prevent hydrates, lower the gas's dew point, reduce pipeline corrosion, and improve efficiency by minimizing free water accumulation.
